President Trump took to Twitter on Sunday night, in the middle of a government shutdown, to throw his support behind former MLB pitcher Curt Schilling for the Hall of Fame.
Not that it mattered all that much considering Trump doesn’t have an official vote and voting had ended weeks earlier.
Either way Trump let the World Series winner know he was behind him.
Curt Schilling deserves to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Great record, especially when under pressure and when it mattered most. Do what everyone in Baseball knows is right! @marklevinshow

Schilling, who since his retirement has let his right-wing leaning politics shine, responded by thanking the President and returning his support for the current government shutdown.
Thank you Mr President! Do NOT give in on any of it! We are behind you! https://t.co/dAazba6Gon

Haters of both Trump and Schilling will be happy to know that despite the President’s support and his own on the field success, Schilling isn’t likely to get into the Hall of Fame this year.
