The Cubs might be back in on the Bryce Harper Sweepstakes. After bowing out early in the off-season, they are rumored to have met with the star free agent on Friday.
This is according someone who works in the Brewers front office. It was also revealed by the Milwaukee source that Harper is believed to have an offer on the table from an unidentified team.
Here’s what I’ve been told I can say. My good friend works in the MKE FO. He’s a PA to an executive. He heard from his boss that Harper met w/Cubs yesterday. Likely has an offer from another team. He has no idea if the Cubs will match or if they are in on Harper.

So what would have changed to get the Cubs interested in Harper again? Likely the asking price.
If Harper has an offer close to what the Cubs are willing to pay then it is possible that they make him an offer.
