Television analyst Jim Deshaies called it. Up 1-0 in the sixth, Javy Baez padded the lead with a two-run shot, complete with a prodigious post-homer celebration.
Later in the game, the Cubs got some more breathing room in the form of a two-run homer from Kris Bryant that cleared the right-center-field wall and landed in the pool.
But this homer was extra special, considering Cubs broadcaster Jim Deshaies predicted Bryant’s homer before he hit it.
Len Kasper, his partner in the booth, even shouted “mic drop!” a few times, which is exactly what that was.
