Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence has a plan to save the XFL and it’s just crazy enough to work. His plan is for the NFL to buy league and turn it into a minor league system.
The league announced on Friday that it was suspending operations and laying off employees. It didn’t reveal any plans to either resume the league or to shut it down permanently.
The league didn’t fail because of the product it put on the field and several players have signed NFL contracts. A minor league system seems like a reasonable way to keep the XFL players employed.
