Just days ahead of his big UFC 229 title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, comes news that Conor McGregor has signed a multi-year contract with Reebok. The deal comes on the heals of a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal with Monster Energy and is reportedly worth as much as $5 million.
McGregor might already be the wealthiest mixed martial artist of all-time, via ESPN:
Conor McGregor has signed a new multi-year deal with Reebok, according to multiple sources. On Monday’s episode of “Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show,” McGregor said he was close to re-signing with the apparel company and now, two days before his long-awaited return to the UFC, the deal is done. McGregor’s old deal with Reebok expired last year, and he wasn’t sponsored by them for his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. When asked about the specifics of the deal, Audie Attar, McGregor’s manager, declined to provide details, however, he confirmed the news. I asked Attar how much the deal is worth, but he again declined to provide specifics. When finally asked if it was worth five million dollars, Attar smirked and said, “and then some.” This comes a day after McGregor signed a new multi-year, million-dollar deal with Monster Energy.
What a week for McGregor and he hasn’t even stepped back in the octagon. Even if he ends up losing to Khabib, he’s already won the week. Not to mention the fact that he could walk away with upwards of $50 million from the fight this weekend.
