Yes we're all safe here.  Things have been nuts in LA the past 2 weeks.  I know of about 50 homes of family, friends or work colleagues who were evacuated. Of those, 11 lost their homes.  Lots of crazy stories, esp during the evacuations.  People having to go out on foot, cars catching fire.  The winds have been unlike anything I've ever experienced in my life, and I've been in just about any type of weather.  100 mph winds on the ground, and then 200 plus mph winds up in the canyons.  Craziest thing ever.  As bad as it is, without the fire crews and pilots doing the things they've done, it would have been a hell of alot worse.  The training and prevention those guys do is amazing.  And it's amazing seeing everyone come together and help.  Hoping all of you are doing good..  I'll try to check in more when I can.  

@cali glad to hear you are safe but very sorry to hear some of your friends lost their homes.  I can’t imagine what the evacuations have been like.  I have been in hurricanes but at least with those you have time to prepare and get out of the line of danger.  

The pilots of the boraid planes and water are complete badasses!!!  The way they fly those big ass jets like fighter pilots is so fascinating to watch.
