Prime Time Sports in Colorado Springs is going out of business after they stopped selling Nike apparel to protest the Colin Kaepernick ad campaign.  The store had been in business for more than 20 years.

Via KOAA News 5:

After more than 20 years in business, Prime Time Sports Owner Stephen Martin says he can’t afford his monthly lease anymore at Chapel Hills Mall.

On Monday, staff hung 40% off signs all over the store.

“Being a sports store without Nike is kind of like being a milk store without milk or a gas station without gas. How do you do it? They have a monopoly on jerseys,” said Martin.

There’s a reason Nike chose to do the ad campaign with Kaepernick and not any of the smaller shoe companies.  They knew that they would outlast any backlash that might come from it.
