UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton might have lost more than just the rest of the season. The Heisman hopeful suffered a dislocated knee that required surgery.
If there was disruption of blood flow due to an issue with his artery, then the surgery was to save his leg and likely ended his dreams of playing in the NFL.
This situation is similar to #ZachMiller @ChicagoBears.
Undoubtedly emergency surgery to restore blood flow as permanent muscle damage occurs within hours if circulation not restored. https://t.co/bISj8JsEk9— David J. Chao, MD (@ProFootballDoc) November 24, 2018
Dislocated knee confirmed.
Likely emergency surgery to "save" his leg comes next as artery likely disrupted. This is a #ZachMiller @ChicagoBears situation. Wish this athlete the best but any @NFL dreams are likely over. https://t.co/eHcbYaJiGA— David J. Chao, MD (@ProFootballDoc) November 24, 2018
While Milton’s condition is unknown at this time, if the likely scenario played out and he required surgery to save his leg then he may never play football again.
Let’s hope, if the injury is as bad as it potentially could be, that he’s able to beat the odds and return to playing the game he loves at a high level.
