Kicker Cody Parkey has been blamed for missing a game winning field goal and prematurely ending the Bears season. He was even booed off of the field by Bears fans after the game.
But when the video is slowed down, it clearly shows that Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester partially blocked the kick with his finger.
So while Cody Parkey is being ridiculed, it was actually Treyvon Hester, #90, that blocked the kick. Sports media missed b/c Parkey hitting upright, again, is a much, much better story. I give to you Exhibit A and Exhibit B. Hell of a Play Treyvon!!#PHIvsCHI #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/rjyVg4fAl0

Here’s a frame-by-frame look that clearly shows the Parkey kick was tipped by Treyvon Hester (Hester confirmed to @Bo_Wulf he tipped it). pic.twitter.com/6dOXui7Yyp

It doesn’t change the outcome of the game and Bears fans are still going to spend the off-season thinking about what could have been.
But it clears Parkey’s name and makes a hero out of Treyvon Hester.
