On Wednesday the district attorney announced that Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill would not face charges in a case involving the abuse of his young son. This comes despite the fact that investigators believe a crime was committed.
Following the announcement, the Kansas City Chiefs made their own lame announcement about the case:
“This afternoon we were informed that Tyreek Hill will not be charged by the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office. Due to the continued investigation by the Department for Children and Families, we will have no further comment at this time.”
When will we hear an actual announcement from the Chiefs? Well, according to KCTV, cases of child abuse have a five-year statue of limitations under Kansas Law.
So maybe some time in the next five years the Chiefs will come up with some sort of statement about a guy who was accused of abusing his child and has a 50-50 chance of being responsible for the abuse.
