Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley announced on Friday that this season, his 16th, will be his last. The 39 year old is hitting just .231 in 57 games this season for Los Angeles.
Utley was one of the best second baseman of his era, even with knee issues that he battled throughout his career. The six time All-Star was part of the 2008 World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies.
Who could forget that one of the funniest scenes in the history of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” was all about him?
Utley had himself a pretty decent career and that was an even better scene.
