How do you know Bron haven’t went to the Lakers and told them to sign Melo? I’ve witnessed GMs Tell Bron no several times! Bron tried to get Melo in Cleveland and the Cavs told him no!

The Lakers telling LeBron no is the only way Melo not already being on the roster makes any sense. At the same time you would figure that he would have enough pull to get his friend a job.
