Via NBC Sports:
“Listen, at the end of the day, I’ll trust Howie with that,” Wentz said Thursday. “That play happened, it is what it is. That’s football. It was an unfortunate way to end end season for me personally, but I have respect for Jadeveon, he’s a heck of a player.”
Clowney wasn’t flagged or fined for what appeared to be a blatant late hit and cheap shot. Wentz suffered a concussion and was replaced by 40-year-old Josh McCown, and the Eagles went on to lose, 17-9.
Wentz has missed the end of the last three seasons with injuries.
“I don’t think he had any ill will with that hit,” Wentz said. “That’s part of football. But he’s a heck of a player, so I trust Howie to make the right decisions to make our team the best we can be.”
It sure looks like Eagles are trying to make Wentz a little less comfortable in Philadelphia. They draft a quarterback in the second-round and are now discussing signing a guy who ended his season. Something’s going on with the Eagles.
