Rays outfielder Carlos Gomez took time over the weekend to make a young fan’s day. He gave the kid a bat and a hug.
Gomez doesn’t have much use for a bat anyway. He’s currently hitting .218 on the season.
The far better gift came from the Rays to the Yankees when they swept the four game series and allowed New York to climb back into the pennant race.
A couple more gifts like that and the Yankees just might take the AL East. Who isn’t rooting for that?
