Washington Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik is one tough son of a gun. The Stanley Cup champion revealed to reporters this week that during Game 2 of the finals, part of his pinky finger was severed off.
Orpik on his finger: “It kinda fell off.” Also, an unrelated hand injury he suffered in the Columbus series might require surgery. Hockey players, man. #ALLCAPS pic.twitter.com/HoxTlCNvDP

Slash from Erik Haula late in Game 2 actually took off tip of Brooks Orpik’s left pinkie finger. He said it had to be stitched back on.

Hockey guys don’t care about their bodies, they’re willing to lose tooth, fingers, and sacrifice their future for the present. This is a perfect example of why NHL players are fearless. Just reattach and move on.
