Canada-born Vasek Pospisil was taking on Gael Monfils on Sunday and was beaten in straight sets by the Frenchman.
It was Monfils’ third time lifting the trophy and it was a clinical display from the tournament’s top seed
However, it was Pospisil’s unusual method of re-energizing himself between games that caught the eye of many tennis fans.

During a changeover, Pospisil was spotted sipping maple syrup and the video quickly began circulating on social media.
