Had this discussion w/ someone last week: No way Cam Newton signs w/ anyone as a backup. Continue to rehab and wait for travel restrictions to lift so teams can examine him. Worst case: He waits until a starter gets hurt.

With the lack of starting jobs out there it looks like Cam will be at home watching games until a starting quarterback goes down with an injury.
It could be a short wait or a very long one. You would think a backup role would give him the chance to prove he’s healthy again.
