Panthers quarterback Cam Newton left Thursday night’s game against the Patriots in the first quarter after injuring his foot. It was his first game action of the preseason and it didn’t end the way anyone had hoped.
The injury occurred as Cam was sacked on a third down play. He immediately grabbed his foot before limping off the field to the bench.
Doctors checked Newton out before he was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation, which is almost always not a good sign.
