The Phillies managed to sign Bryce Harper in the off-season to an insane $330 million contract. Fittingly Philadelphia’s playoff hopes came to an end in Washington on Tuesday at the hands of the team he shunned in order to sign in Philly.
To make matters worse, in addition to ending the Phillies season, the Nationals clinched a playoff spot by winning both games of the doubleheader. What a think of beauty.
After the game Harper was asked about manager Gabe Kapler’s job and didn’t exactly throw his support behind him. He added that he was willing to talk to the front office about him.
