Bryce Harper tried to be a superhero on Saturday against the Twins. He tried to hurdle the catcher after tagging up from third on a shallow fly ball in centerfield.
It didn’t work out too well for Harper. He was thrown out by Twins centerfielder Byron Buxton by a mile and his hurdle wasn’t enough to clear the catcher.
As bad as it ended up being for Harper, it could have been a lot worse for all involved. Harper didn’t roll an ankle or blowout a knee and the catcher didn’t get his head removed from his shoulders.
Instead it just ended an inning in a one run ball game. A game the Phillies ended up losing 6-2.
