The Manny Machado and Bryce Harper sweepstakes have heated up quite a bit in recent days. Machado reportedly has an offer on the table of 8-years, $280 million from the Padres and Harper is reportedly going to receive a 10-year, $300 million deal.
The lucky team that will reportedly back up the Brink’s truck to land Harper is the Philadelphia Phillies.
Bryce Harper, who has been waiting for someone to meet his price, appears to have found that team in the #Phillies. There is no deal yet but he will ultimately receive more than the 10-year, $300 million contract he turned down from the #Nats in September.

According to reports, talks between the two sides have picked up over the weekend and the numbers are heading towards the numbers Harper has been seeking all off-season. If the Phillies do breakdown and give him a franchise ruining deal, he will likely sign.
