Dolphins quarterback Brock Osweiler is preparing for his fourth straight start as Ryan Tannehill continues to recover from injury. Despite being 1-2 in the three previous starts, Osweiler has no plans to relinquish the starting job to Tannehill is healthy.
Osweiler said when you get your opportunity, you don’t give the job back, via Sun-Sentinel:
“I think your mentality in this league is when you get your opportunity to play, you never give that guy his job back,” Osweiler said Wednesday after the Dolphins ruled Tannehill out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets (3-5) at Hard Rock Stadium.
“And that’s nothing personal against anybody. But if you don’t have that competitive spirit, this isn’t the league for you.”
That’s a ton of confidence from a guy with his spotty resume. You can’t help but respect it.
On the other hand, Tannehill can’t stay healthy and it’s really time for Miami to move on from him. If not with Osweiler, someone else.
