Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner was frustrated that a ball he hit was caught during Saturday’s loss to the Indians. When he returned to the dugout the veteran decided to take it out on his helmet.
Gardner fired the helmet at the dugout wall, it bounced back and hit him right in the face. The temper tantrum left him with a bloody lower lip.

Gardner’s split lip would require six stitches to repair after the game. He had the stitches put in without any numbing solution.
Six stitches right down the middle of the bottom lip for Brett Gardner. He got them with no numbing solution or anything. Said getting them was way more painful than being hit in his mouth by his helmet.

Maybe next time throw the helmet at something that doesn’t throw it back.
