25 year old Atlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb came one out away from throwing a no hitter on Sunday. That was overshadowed when old racist and homophobic tweets of his surfaced following the game.
The tweets were sent out by Newcomb when he was a senior in high school. Once they’re out the internet has them.
After the game Newcomb addressed the disturbing tweets. From Braves field reporter Kelsey Wingert:
“This is something that obviously can’t be happening. I feel bad about it. I don’t mean to offend anybody. I definitely regret it.”
Not much of an apology, but he did address it. Expect a lot of boos during his next start on the road.
