The Braves and Marlins opened a weekend series on Friday night in Miami. It was Atlanta’s first time facing starting pitcher Jose Urena since he threw at Robert Acuna last season.
Braves starter Kevin Gausman didn’t waste any time ignoring the umpire’s pregame warning and threw behind Urena’s legs in the bottom of the second inning during his first plate appearance.
The umpire didn’t care that the pitch missed and immediately tossed Gausman from the game.

The Braves went on to win the game 7-2. Clearly this issue hasn’t been resolved yet and you can expect a little bench clearing action at some point down the road.
