Blake Griffin sat out Game 1 of the Pistons and Bucks playoff series on Sunday with a sore knee. The Bucks thrashed the Pistons 121-86.
Not that Griffin being on the court would have made that much of a difference, the Bucks swept the Pistons with him on the floor this season, but Detroit’s forward says the decision to sit out was not his.
Via ESPN:
Even when Griffin did play against the Bucks during the regular season, Milwaukee swept Detroit in the teams’ four meetings. After Sunday’s game, Casey likened the Pistons without Griffin to the Bucks without Antetokounmpo or the 2016 Cavaliers without LeBron James.
“If it was my decision, I would’ve played,” Griffin said.
Blake Griffin is at odds with his team about something? It’s good to see that some things never change.
I’m not sure why the Pistons would have him sit out, it’s not like they have any shot at winning this series. So sore knee or not, put him on the floor. He’ll have plenty of time to rest it after they get swept.
