Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy took an elbow to the face from Stars forward Tyler Pitlick late in the third period on Thursday night in Dallas. He immediately went down holding his face as it poured blood all over the ice.
Murphy would leave the game and not return for the final two minutes and change.
It didn’t seem like the elbow was an intentional one by Pitlick and there was no penalty called on the play. After the game Murphy seemed to be okay and was seen doing some stretching outside of the locker room.
Connor Murphy and his bloodied face are still at the arena. He’s doing some post-game stretches outside the locker room.

The fact that the Blackhawks won the game probably helps with the recovery process.
