One of the most memorable gestures from the recent movie Black Panther is the Wakanda Forever salute.
In the below brief video, star Chadwick Boseman demonstrates it on the Academy Awards red carpet. If you haven’t seen the movie, or have no clue what the salute is about. Here it is below, and also come out underneath the rock you’ve been living under.

Now everybody is pulling off the move, as the movie shows no signs of slowing down. French tennis player Gael Monfils and American player Sachia Vickery both gave the crossed-armed salute after recent victories.

#WakandaForever @SachiaVick has seen it four times already including twice this week in Indian Wells. “I guess I’ll keep seeing it.” She’s obsessed with @theblackpanther.#BNPPO18 pic.twitter.com/9ZlxsSEAf2

The gesture has also been seen on the Rugby field, so it’s definitely a world wide phenomenon. Pretty cool that these guys are using it for celebrations.

The movie worked on every level, was one of the best, if not the best, Marvel movies. When a movie strikes a chord with the public, it’s really special. That being said, Wakanda Forever!
