The Milwaukee Bucks were ousted from the postseason with their Game 6 loss against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, and guard Patrick Beverley refused to be interviewed after the contest by any journalists not subscribed to his podcast, “The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone.”
Beverley told ESPN producer Malinda Adams that he wouldn’t answer questions from her since she doesn’t subscribe to his show and later asked her to leave the press circle.
According to Jack Maloney of CBS Sports, Beverley has been refusing to talk to any reporters in Milwaukee who do not follow his podcast.
“The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone” was started in October 2022 with internet personality Adam Ferrone. The veteran guard occasionally used the platform to break NBA news, including his trade to Milwaukee at the deadline.
Beverley is under scrutiny for an altercation with Pacers fans late in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s tilt. The 35-year-old threw a basketball into a section close to the Bucks’ bench multiple times before teammates intervened.
Milwaukee fell in the opening round of the playoffs for a second consecutive season. Former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the entire series due to a calf strain, while All-Star point guard Damian Lillard sat out two games with an Achilles injury.
