Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett and defensive back Javon Bullard were named offensive and defensive MVPs of the Bulldogs’ 65-7 national championship victory over TCU.
Bennett has now won the offensive MVP award in all four CFP games of his illustrious career, including last season’s championship win over Alabama.
The Bulldogs quarterback tied Joe Burrow’s national championship game record with six total touchdowns against the Horned Frogs. Bennett threw for four scores while also adding two rushing touchdowns in Monday’s blowout win. Additionally, he accumulated 304 passing yards on 18 completions.
Bennett received a standing ovation after being removed from the game with Georgia leading 52-7 early in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Bullard was directly involved in all three of Georgia’s takeaways on defense. He picked off TCU’s Max Duggan twice and also recovered a fumble.
Georgia dominated TCU on both sides of the ball, outgaining its championship foes 589-188 in yardage and 32-9 in first downs.
