Following a vicious hit by a Florida player that was flagged for targeting, head coaches Dan Mullen and Derek Mason exchanged words on the field. The exchange caused the two teams to leave their benches.

Both teams were penalized for leaving their benches. Cooler heads would prevail and Vanderbilt took a 21-13 into halftime. The Gators would mount a second half comeback and at the time of this post have a 27-24 lead.
