Former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield has plenty of red flags as he enters the NFL Draft. He also has a ton of upside as far as his talent.
That upside reportedly has Mayfield at the top of the New York Jets draft board. NFL reporter Tony Pauline is reporting that Mayfield to the Jets is all but a done deal.
Via Draft Analyst:
Two weeks ago, we reported that league insiders believe the New York Jets will select quarterback Baker Mayfield with the third selection. And while Josh Rosen is still in consideration for the pick, those representing the top quarterbacks in this draft tell me they also believe Mayfield ends up with the Jets. One source, who has dealt with quarterbacks at the top of the draft the past five years, believes Mayfield to the Jets is a “done deal.”
No wonder Mayfield believes he will be a top five pick. If nothing else, Baker Mayfield in New York will be entertaining.
If he goes full Johnny Football when he realizes the NFL game is more difficult than the college one, then we’ll really be in for a treat.
