Auburn Softball pitcher Ashlee Swindle was hit with a line drive in the face on Friday night against Colorado State. She was carted off the field and later diagnosed with a concussion.
Auburn would win the game 10-5, but lose Swindle for the rest of the Tucson Regional.
During last night’s game, Auburn starting pitcher Ashlee Swindle was transported from Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium to Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz.
After further evaluation, Swindle was diagnosed with a concussion, then released to team doctors.

You hate to see a line drive to the face, especially in softball. They’re so close to the hitter when they let go of the ball.
That’s why they make facemasks for softball players. If you don’t wear one this is the risk you take. It’s good to hear she will be okay.
