The FBI used wiretaps to intercept phone conversations between Arizona head coach Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins. Dawkins is at the center of the FBI’s investigation into NCAA corruption.
During the call Miller and Dawkins discussed paying freshman Deandre Ayton $100,000 to ensure he signed with the Wildcats.

According to people with knowledge of the FBI investigation, Miller and Dawkins, a runner working for ASM Sports agent Andy Miller, had multiple conversations about Ayton. When Dawkins asked Miller if he should work with assistant coach Emanuel “Book” Richardson to finalize their agreement, Miller told Dawkins he should deal directly with him when it came to money, the sources said.
The telephone calls between Miller and Dawkins were among 3,000 hours of conversations intercepted from Dawkins’ phone by the FBI.
Not a good look for Miller. I wouldn’t expect to see him or Ayton the rest of the year. I wouldn’t expect Arizona to do much in the NCAA tournament either.
Miller should have had himself a middle man like all of the other major programs do. You can’t be discussing these kinds of things directly as a head coach.
