Former Chargers tight end Antonio Gates announced on Twitter on Tuesday that after 16 seasons in the NFL, all with the Chargers, he is retiring.
The 39-year-old, 8-time Pro Bowler, is leaving the game as one of the best to ever do it.

The former College Basketball player turned NFL star didn’t play at all during the 2019 season after back-to-back subpar seasons.
