Cubs manager Joe Maddon finally let first baseman Anthony Rizzo pitch in a game.
With the Cubs down 7-1 in the 8th inning, Maddon came out for a pitching change and acted like he was going to let Rizzo pitch before putting another position player to pitch.
With two outs in the 9th, Maddon came back out and finally let Rizzo pitch. He threw two pitches, one at 54 MPH, to get the final out and keep his ERA at a perfect zero.
If you’re going to lose, you might as well have a good time doing so. And kick that pace of play right in the groin.
