The Carolina Panthers had a need in their secondary, so they chose to sign former San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid.

Reid was the first player in the NFL to join Kaepernick by taking a knee during the anthem
Makes you wonder if he’ll continue his protesting ways. According to this source, the Panthers didn’t even ask him about his previous Anthem protests.
I’m told the Panthers did NOT ask Eric Reid whether he would continue demonstrating. The signing was strictly a “football decision”. They believe he’s a good football player who can help them win.

Reid is also in the middle of a collusion case against the NFL, so there’s that.
My understanding is that Eric Reid’s place in the collusion lawsuit against the NFL remains unchanged, despite his signing with the #Panthers.

Should play out for an interesting season, and this could possibly open the door for Kaepernick to come back and play. Which I honestly don’t think Kaep is even interested in doing anymore.
I reached out to @markgeragos, attorney for Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid in their collusion lawsuit for a statement or reaction to Reid being signed by the #Panthers. He sent me back only this picture. 🤷🏽♂️👇🏽 pic.twitter.com/7MZ7dwzyXM
