Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick was hit with a pitch on Tuesday night in Los Angeles by Angels pitcher Noe Ramirez in the 6th inning. The pitch was up and in and only missed Marisnick’s head when he put his shoulder in the ball’s path.
It was obviously in retaliation for Marisnick’s play at the plate when he knocked Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy out cold and broke his nose.
Marisnick took his base without a word or staring down the pitcher and appeared to be hoping the whole thing would just go away. The Astros bench wasn’t as quick to let things go and when the pitcher threw over to first they started chirping, but it was Marisnick who told them to chill out.
