According to The New York Postthe former New York Yankees slugger has decided to leave his post as the morning show’s contributor.

A source told the paper there was a general feeling between the cast and crew that there was no real room for A-Rod, 43, with Michael Strahan as the main host.

Since breaking up with ABC, Rodriguez already has appeared on NBC’s “Today’s Show.” Strahan is an executive producer on A-Rod’s CNBC show, “Back in the Game,” on which Rodriguez counsels financially down-and-out athletes.

A-Rod was making less than $500,000, from ABC, a source said, and there was a feeling from his camp that if there was anything sports related ABC would use Strahan.

RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Strahan was feeling overshadowed by the celebrity athlete,Opens a New Window. and was not happy he had stolen the spotlight at his beloved morning show.

Apparently there are no hard feelings, as Rodriguez has already moved on to other TV opportunities. A-Rod has enough on his plate, and personally, I don’t watch GMA, so who really cares.
