The Red Sox lost Game 1 of the ALCS to the reigning World Series champions on Saturday night. The Astros put up 7 runs to win the game 7-2.
In the 5th inning of a tied game with the bases loaded Andrew Benintendi was called out on a boardline pitch with a 3-2 count. Benintendi didn’t like the call and neither did Red Sox manager Alex Cora, who earned himself an ejection for arguing.
Home plate ump makes bad strike three call to ring up Andrew Benintendi, and then quickly ejects #RedSox manager Alex Cora. Poor decision by Hoye to toss Cora so quickly. pic.twitter.com/KBZdbEQW8b

After the game Cora discussed his early shower and simply said he was arguing balls and strikes. You can’t do that, although some umpires will certainly let you express your feelings.
Asked Alex Cora about getting ejected: “I argued balls and strikes and you can’t argue balls and strikes.” #RedSox pic.twitter.com/1ja79P8qJU
