Third baseman Alex Bregman signed a new 6-year, $100 million deal with the Houston Astros. The 24-year-old is locked up through 2024.
MLB sources: #Astros and Alex Bregman reach an agreement on a six-year contract worth $100 million. The deal includes this season as the Astros lock up their All-Star third baseman through 2024. https://t.co/w7LQheQggq

It looks like a good deal for both sides. Bregman gets paid, the team wraps up an All-Star player in his prime, and they can buy out the contract after two free agent years.
This is a win-win.
It’s not Trout money, but it will pay a few bills for Alex and a couple of generations. He can also overtip a few more waitresses for YouTube views.
