64,000 people have signed a Change.org petition calling for Maroon 5 to drop out of performing at the Superbowl halftime show in February.
And when asked about his participation for the Superbowl on Tuesday, Adam Levine gave a ver cryptic reply.
Via Variety:
Fellow celebrities like Rihanna and Amy Schumer are urging the band to bail on the game in a show of solidarity for Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players who knelt on the field during the national anthem to protest racial inequality and police brutality.
When Variety asked about his controversial decision to sign on to the Super Bowl, Levine would only say, “I’m still formulating a lot of things.”
Playing the Superbowl halftime show is the pinnacle for any music act. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I’d be pretty surprised if they didn’t play, but hey, you never know with artists.
