Actress Jami Gertz represented the Atlanta Hawks at the NBA Draft lottery. Her husband is the team’s co-owner, Tony Ressler.

According to Ressler she was selected to bring the Hawks good luck because she’s been responsible for his good luck the past 30 years.
Hawks owner Tony Ressler told me this on decision to have wife – Jami Gertz – at NBA draft lottery. 'She's been responsible for all my luck for the past 30 years.'

Hertz didn’t disappoint as the Hawks landed the 3rd overall pick in next year’s draft. Hours before the draft she revealed the key to her luck, a red ribbon tied to her bra.
Team Owner Jami Gertz is ready for the Draft Lottery tonight! And feeling lucky 🤞 pic.twitter.com/p1TIcE8OW6

Who knew before tonight that her husband was the co-owner of the Hawks? And why isn’t she front and center on all things Hawks related?
If the reactions on Twitter are any indication, she just might be more visible going forward.
I hope & trust this lottery will be immediately followed by an 11-part 30 for 30 explaining how Jami Gertz came to own the Atlanta Hawks.

Just woke up from my nap for #NBADraftLottery … never as much drama as Expected. #Knicks stay to form getting No.9 pick. #Nets pick goes to #Cavaliers … which was #Celtics for a while but they traded for #Kyrie. And Jami Gertz is a #Hawks owner! Best thing I’ve learned today.

Am I the only late 40s male who is trying to process Jami Gertz (16 Candles and other 80s movie classics) owning the Hawks and being onstage at The NBA Draft lottery? pic.twitter.com/1GJEaXAq2Y
