Good young pitching is hard to find. So it makes a lot of sense for the Phillies to lockup right-hander Aaron Nola. According to multiple reports, the 25-year-old signed a four-year, $45 million extension with Philadelphia.
The deal reportedly includes a fifth year option for an additional $16 million. It’s all around a great deal for both sides, especially if the option gets picked up.

Nola had his best season at the Major League level last season. He went 17-6 with a 2.37 era and had 224 strikeouts in 212 innings. He was also selected to his first All-Star game.
