Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge was activated from the disabled list on Friday, despite the fact that he still can’t hit. He made an appearance at the end of the Yankees 11-0 win as a defensive replacement.
Judge received a standing ovation when he entered the game and he made a kid’s day by handing him a ball following his warm-up tosses.
It’s odd that one of the best bats on the roster would be activated from the DL to be used as a defensive replacement and baserunner. Yet that’s exactly what is going on in the Bronx.
Judge has been taking batting practice so it’s unclear why he isn’t able to hit in a game. The Yankees are going to need his bat if they want to do anything in the postseason.
