An unnamed club is showing interest in right-hander Gerrit Cole, according to reports.
Cole has met with the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Los Angeles Angels, and is expected to exceed a $300-million payday in free agency, which would supplant the Washington Nationals’ and Stephen Strasburg’s reported record-breaking deal for a pitcher.

There is an increasing expectation that Cole will sign before winter meetings conclude Thursday.
It’s believed the Yankees planned to make a seven-year, $245-million offer to Cole before Strasburg signed his reported deal Monday, Feinsand adds.
