Former NFL quarterback Chris Simms claimed, on the Bleacher Report podcast “Simms and Lefkoe” that 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan named his son after rapper Lil Wayne.

Simms revealed the interesting fact as they were discussing a picture that Shanahan and his son Carter appeared in at a Bellator event last weekend.  He also talked about Shanahan’s obsession with the rapper early in his NFL career.

This will only help the 38 year old’s reputation with his players.  Expect big things in San Francisco this season.
