Kevin Durant’s Achilles injury might be the most talked about injury in NBA Finals history. The belief is that he tore his Achilles during Game 5 on Monday night, his first back after missing a month with a strained calf.
There is at least one person who doesn’t believe KD tore his Achilles, 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman. He weighed in on the injury on Twitter.
According to Sherman, who tore his Achilles back in 2017, says it looks like a strained Achilles on the play, because if it was torn KD wouldn’t have been able to flex his ankle.
He probably strained his Achilles. If he tore it he wouldn’t be able to flex that ankle https://t.co/NXX1ACLfaC

That’s great news if Dr. Sherman’s diagnosis on social media is correct. We’ll wait for the MRI results, but for now there are people who think he may have escaped a torn Achilles.
